11. Cinematography Blog Task

In the opening scene from ‘The Dark Knight (2008)’, cinematography is used to create a tense atmosphere that attracts the attention of the audience and keeps them invested by giving them a look at the intense action and crime that happens in the world that the movie is set it. At the beginning we see a close up of a clown mask in a man’s hand which connotes chaos which we see soon after this shot. The next scene shows two men zip lining from one building to another with a very long drone/crane shot which shows how high up these criminals are and gives the audience a sense of how daring and dangerous by showing how high up they are also showing they’re willing to do stunts that risk death to commit their crimes. When the camera goes back to the first group of thieves there’s a use of wide/long shots and tracking shots to show how all the characters and how precise and well prepared they are as they know exactly where they all need to go.Throughout the bank robbery i’ve identified th...
