The story behind the movie is based on the life of Safraz Mansoor and his friendship with Amok who introduced him to Bruce Springsteen in real life. It was a movie made of his memoir 'Greetings from Bury Park'.

The most common response was that audiences felt that they related to the movie despite being from places all over the world and of different ethnicities with different cultures/backgrounds. Some also felt connected to the movies storyline emotionally despite not having lived the same experiences they felt left out/as though they were an outsider which is reflected in the movie.

They officially established themselves within Hollywood with the release od the lord of the rings trilogy which was a major success which caught the attention of Warner bros who bought new line cinemas for 250 million.
